Live Editor is a MESS

The live editor has all sorts of new bugs with 2.1.x. It displays things that have been deleted, doesn’t display things that should be there, and doesn’t properly update positioning. Once you save and refresh, everything is as it should be. This almost never happened with 2.0.x. Yet nobody noticed this stuff?

In the last hour on a brand new site:

  1. Copied a row, moved it, deleted the original. Both disappear, until page is refreshed.

  2. Existing Classic Gravity form not selectable on page.

  3. Using structured view, selected unselectable form from above, and moved it above a headline. Go back to regular view, elements are in their original positions. Once saved/page refresh, elements appear where they should.

You guys have to do better. Things are being rushed and there is no quality control. If your bug fix releases are riddled with bugs, I’m horrified at what the next feature release is going to break.

Would you mind sharing login credentials to the site where you’re experiencing this? You can do this in a secure note.

I’m unable to reproduce these issues. This update cycle went through several weeks of beta testing and the initial release has been out 10 days now. In that timeframe been out for and this is the first I’ve heard of these three issues.

If possible it would help if we could take a look at your site to see if we can deduce what makes these problems occur there. Thanks!

These bugs occur reliably on 3 different websites running 2.1.5 with completely unique setups. Whoever your beta testers are need to do a lot better. A lot better. Maybe have paid beta testers who will run the thing into the ground properly and flesh out bugs? Not that it’s even needed…I found these bugs within 15 minutes of using 2.1.x for the first time. Not to mention the others bugs I ran into that others have already found…that somehow made it through your crack team of beta testers (i.e. Headlines created under the Hero header can’t be edited anymore).

No need for login credentials, its a Pro-wide problem. Put your best minds together, and really dig into this thing.

We’re on a tight production schedule (in part thanks to the non-stop Pro bugs) so these reports are passed to you as a courtesy. We’ve had to find workarounds on the fly.

There are many different forces at play when building a WordPress site. If you want I can check your sites which would help us confirm the source of any potential issues and expedite getting them fixed.
