License Validation Issue 4.6.1

I have recently inherited a very old WordPress running an old version of the x theme. I have entered my license code but it simply won’t do anything after I hit enter.

I have moved the site to fully Https recently and run a database https URL change, the site works fine but editing pages has become an issue.

The X theme version I am running is 4.6.1 in a WordPress which is currently version 4.8.9

I aim to update soon but I am not sure about the impact this might have on the currently running theme.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for writing in! When you have missed major update releases, our validation process will not be initiated correctly. You can see the latest version information from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195).

So in your case, the best option would be to download the latest version of X theme from your Themeforest account, then delete your current version of X theme and Cornerstone plugins (your current settings and data will be saved in the database, so you can safely delete) and then re-install the latest versions respectively. After that, you should be able to validate your theme.

Since you’re using fairly older versions, I would suggest you to take a full backup of your site before updating.
