Latest Pro/Cornerstone Update not working on WPStaging Site

Hi,

I’ve been working converting our website to Pro using the staging plug WPStaging. It worked completely fine until the latest upgrade to Pro 2.3.5. I’m not sure if this is a Pro issue or a WPStaging issue My biggest problem is in the content editor. I can navigate to the page I want to edit but when I select either of the 3 menu options of “Layout,” “Elements,” or “Inspector” it takes from being in my staging site to my live site. Which gives me a “Page Not Found” message.

I’ve tried:

  • Different browsers
  • Emptying my cache in the Pro Settings
  • Disabling plugins

Is there a way to downgrade my theme to a previous version? I’ve only encountered this problem since updating my plugins and themes. Thank you!

Thanks for writing in and I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. If you want the previous release, you should be able to download it from your Themeco dashboard.

If you want to isolate the issue, could you please try following our general troubleshooting guidelines below. Most possible causes are due to caching or plugin conflicts. Also check your PHP version and memory limit.

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Go to X > Settings and click on the Clear Style Cache button.
  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  5. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the Theme Options or Child Theme and test the case.
  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
