Issue with convert plus and mailchimp

I’m trying to create an opt-in form for mailchimp using convert plus, however, when I input a new email address (one that isn’t already subscribed to a mailchimp list, I get this message: “There appears to be an error with the configuration.”

I’ve been searching through the forum and reading what other people have said and what y’all suggest. I checked the merge fields, and I think they’re correct. Any idea what’s wrong?

Thanks for writing around! Please check for the following first:

1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. 2. Try reinstalling the Mailchimp and the ConvertPlus extensions.

3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
