Integrating saved templates into a plugin

Hey there,

Our team is working on building a super modular tool that will allow us to better serve our small business customers. It starts with Pro at the core, and is supplemented by a plugin we’re building that will contain many custom elements. There are already plenty of modules we can build with the existing Pro tools, so we intend to save them as templates.

As I understand it we’d need to download the templates and then upload them to a new client site. We could save quite a bit of time if we could include those template files in our plugin to automatically be installed with plugin activation. Is there anything in the API that allows for this, or do we need to download the files and then import them using Pro?

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular feature on your own.

I think saving/exporting all your templates in one file will do, then put that file in one place where your team can access.

Thanks for the response. Was hoping to be able to include it in the plugin files so that as we release updates all our sites would have the new templates. Would be a cool part of the API. So many other features make it the perfect tool for us even without that! Thanks again!
