Imported Settings Turned All Font to Italics

I recently started a thread about importing settings successfully from one Pro theme to another Pro theme.

I mentioned that the Color Manager settings didn’t import, that’s in another thread.

However, another aberration I have found is that ALL fonts are now italics even though I have italics toggled off in the Typography area of the Theme Options.

I"ve seen some solutions where you add CSS to override this, but it seems like this is a bug in how settings are being imported and perhaps related to why the colors didn’t import.

Hi there,

Yes, the font settings being converted to italic when you export the Theme Options settings is a known bug that is already in our issue tracker.

For the meantime, kindly apply the workaround suggested in this thread:

Thank you.

Looks like in addition to turning things Italic, it reset all the fonts to Times New Roman.

Hi wbgTHEMECO,

This is something that I couldn’t reproduce, that’s what I’ve done so far:

1- I chose “Monaco” font in (Pro > Fonts) as the font of “Headings”.
2- Then I set “Headings” as the font of Body in (Pro > Theme Options > Typography) as you can see in this screenshot:

3- Now all the fonts on my website are in “Monaco” font as expected.
4- Then I exported the settings in (Pro > Validation) and re-imported it again.
5- Now, the fonts are italic (as expected due to the bug we already aware of) but “still” in “Monaco” as you can see here:

Could you please let me know if I’m missing something? perhaps you did some extra steps that I didn’t?

Thanks.

I would like to help contribute to this issue thread if I could. I am having the exact same trouble.

Here is a run down of my process:
I did a fresh installation of Wordpress, then I launched my wp-content folder, and set up my Pro theme validation. Once that was done, I imported my Pro them settings from the export option on the Validation page. After that, I imported my header settings from the old site. Finally, I imported all of my wordpress content from the old site.

As soon as I opened the home page (once all of that was finished), My headers were Times New Roman and all of the text, including what is in the Admin bar, was in Italics.

Please let me know if I can provide further assistance with this issue. I am very willing to help resolve this.

Thank you for your help

When I go to inspect the code, I notice that the Body class has a Font Style that is set as Italic that is set to disabled. When I toggle it on, the italics all go away. This still does not explain the changed header font though.

Hi Dylan,

Please note that the issue about the body fonts being set to italic despite the settings in the Theme Options is a known bug that our developers are already aware of.

For the meantime, kindly apply the workaround suggested previously on this thread.

Thank you for understanding.

I have done that. However, I was attempting to provide some more information to help you replicate the problem. I am willing to provide further information if it is needed to help solve this problem sooner.

Another bit of information I can provide is that the text in my Pro Header is not in Italics. It only starts when the navigation starts.

Thanks @asiostudio for your assistance in this thread, we appreciate that. This issue should be fixed in the next update.

Hi @Jade, the suggested fix includes adding !important tags to the CSS, meaning that it cannot be overridden with simple CSS practices. This is not an ideal solution (as I’m sure you already know.)

Is there anything else that we can do to fix this?

Hi,

I am sorry but that is the only way to fix it for now.

Once the issue is fixed(next update), you can export your settings and import again.
After importing you may remove that css code.

Don’t forget to create full backup before doing the re-importing of settings.

Thanks
