Whenever I load my website, and also when others access my website, the image slider on the homepage appears to take a while before appearing. I’m certain that I’ve optimized my images so that they are not large in terms of file size.
I would like to understand what could be causing this, and what I can do to fix it. Thank you

Actually, the problem is not the slider itself and it is because of an image at the bottom of the page which is about 1MB. Please check the Secure Note to see the image link and do the optimization for that.
The Flex Slider which is the underlying technology used for the Slider shortcode is waiting till the whole website load, then it shows the slides.
If you are interested in a more efficient way of loading the images I suggest that you consider using the Revolution Slider.
