Icons are visible in "preview" but do not display in live site

Hi Themeco team! I recently noticed that the icons on my website were not displaying. I have not made any changes to content recently other than updating Wordpress and plugins.

You can see an example at http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com/learn-social-skills. There should be an icon underneath each section (ie, underneath manifesto should be an icon of a flag) but none are displaying. I am using the x_icon shortcode.

When I go into the Wordpress editor and preview page, the icons display correctly. However, I do not see them on the live site. I have cleared my cache, disabled cloudflare and changed browsers and nothing helps.

Can you help me bring my icons back? Thanks so much!

Hi Daniel,

It seems that the update did not went smoothly as when I check the website there is a missing Font Awesome font file which is responsible for the icons. The error code is 404 which shows there is no font file in the address below:

http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com/wp-content/themes/x/framework/fonts/font_awesome/fontawesome-webfont.ttf

I suggest that you once again update the theme manually following the manual section of this article below.

Thank you.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. I updated the X theme but the issue persisted. However, your suggestion sent me on the right track, and I was able to identify that the problem was with my caching plugin’s CSS minification feature. I have disabled that feature and all is now well! Thank you,

Dan

We are gratified that we’re able to help you with this,

Cheers!
