Icon Stack Blog Page Styling

Hi there,

This seems silly and maybe it’s just too late for me to figure this out, but how in the world do I get the right side bar and page title to appear on the Icon stack using the new “Non-Profit” expanded demo? I have the right side bar added and widget configured, but it won’t show up on the page. Also apparently there is no page title option for Blog page in Icon stack…? Is there a work around?

Using latest version of everything with X 5 child theme.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Please kindly go to the Page which is set as the main posts page in Settings > Reading.

There at the right of the screen, you will see the page templates section which you can change to enable/disable sidebars for blog pages.

For the Blog Title it should work by going to X > Launch > Options > Icon > Post Title.

If you encounter problems kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your website using Secure Note feature of the post to follow up.

Thank you.

Thank you for responding, but you said this:

I’m sorry, but this is not correct, there is no option to change the page template on my assigned blog page that I can see. I realize this is normally and option, but not in this case.

And also, this:
For the Blog Title it should work by going to X > Launch > Options > Icon > Post Title.
And there is no “post title” option, just “post title icon” which toggles on and off the icon before the title…

So I’m confused. I’ll send my credentials.

Hi there,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I went over your website and changed the Layout and Design section with this option:

That is where to set the sidebar for posts. The Page Template is for the pages.

Also, I see that the titles are showing correctly:

Thank you.

Can you tell me how to get my ICON blog to look like - http://petrosky.temp-website.us/blog/

I want the same options as this layout with the side bar. Having the category options is great. Also, the date drop down.
Thanks!

Hi Paul,

That type of sidebar is actually a default style for ICON because that is one of its feature.

If your Blog index page does not show a sidebar, navigate to Theme Options > Layout and Design and set the CONTENT LAYOUT to Content Left, Sidebar Right (https://prnt.sc/ghoip8).

Those options that you’re referring to are widgets, navigate to Appearance > Widgets and drag the widgets that you want to show on your Main Sidebar. The widget the shows category is the Categories and the widget that shows date is the Archives (https://prnt.sc/ghokh6).

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

will that change the look of the rest of the site? I want to keep full width for the rest of it.

thanks!

Hi There,

No it won’t, given that you’ve used a Blank - No Container or Blank - Container page template on your pages.

Cheers!

I am having the same issue. Setting the global layout to Content Left, Sidebar Right will provide a sidebar on the blog index page IF you also set the Blog settings to Global Layout, but then the content of the page (I have it set for masonry, two column) slides under the sidebar. I can find no way to prevent this from happening. I’ve tried changing the default page template and nothing changes. Can you help?

@jlswilton, it could be a styling issue, would you mind providing your site’s URL as well?

Thanks!

Hey There,

The sidebar should not display if you set it to fullwidth. Do you have any custom code that overrides the layout settings? Could you please provide us access to your mock site so that we can check it thoroughly?

Thank you in advance.

How do I send a private message now? Do not see that option in the new forum.

BTW, I DO want the sidebar to display on the index page. I just do not want it to overlap the content. Thanks.

Hi @jlswilton,

I’ve removed your credentials from this thread as they are also visible to the thread owner. For security purpose change your credentials immediately, create a new thread and share the new credentials in a secure note (Also give a reference of this thread).

Thanks!

Ok, I did this. New thread is here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/blog-index-sidebar-overlapping-content/19697
Just a note: when I clicked ‘secure note’ it said my note would only be visible to me and your staff, so if it is also visible to the thread owner/original poster, you may want to update that text.

Hi there,

Thank you for the message. We will inform our forum manager regarding this. Kindly stay tuned to have an answer to your thread.
