I changed my website URL and now a few pages are showing only the shortcode

Hello!

I moved a website from a subdomain to my main URL.
Everything was showing up perfectly but as soon as I updated my URL a couple of pages went blank.
and if I click on edit page I can only see the shortcodes but no information.

Can you please help me? I’m kinda freaking out!

Hello Nasha,

Thanks for asking.

Please try clicking on Edit with Pro link under Pages > All Pages and see if you are still seeing the shortcodes in visual editor. Along with that, please try out following:

  1. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  2. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

I tried but nothing! so I did the secure option

Hi,

There could be some data that are still pointing to your old url.

Try installing this third party plugin.

Then do a search and replace

Search For: http://youroldsite.com
Replace with: http://jillshalvis.nashalamadesigns.com

Please make sure to backup your site before doing this.

Thanks

Nothing. I still have this pages showing the shortcode.

Hi there,

I assume that you are updating your site from a subdomain URL to the actual site URL. If that is the case, you will have to follow what @paul.r, instructed previously in order to have all of the URLs that are on your site updated correctly including the path for the resources. I have just checked your site and it is still in the subdomain so we can’t really check for anything since your site is not in the state of what you are describing as the issue.

So Please install the Better Search Replace plugin then do the following:

search for http://oldsiteurl.com and replace it with http://newsiteurl.com and
search for http:\/\/oldsiteurl.com and replace it with http:\/\/newsiteurl.com

Replace the domains above accordingly.

But my problem is that I don’t understand why the shortcode is not showing up.
It doesn’t have to do with the domain but the fact that Cornerstone shortcode are not working

Hi Nasha,

It could be your pages have been edited outside of Cornerstone so the builder’s data has been erased. If you have not edited your posts outside of Cornerstone, it is possible that a third party plugin did it.

Right now, if you have a working backup of your site, you can revert to it. If not, regretfully, you will need to rebuild your posts.

Regards!
