HTTP ERROR 500 after update

HI,
Just updated to latest release and now get the following error both when viewing the site and when trying to log onto wp-admin.

http://www.elmwood.essex.sch.uk/wordpress/

"
This page isn’t working

www.elmwood.essex.sch.uk is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
"

Tried Chrome and explorer clearing caches.

UPDATED:thumbsdown:

All I did was run the update!!!
Trying to fix this all day so far: great update this one!

Still having issues:
not .htaccess (tried a new file).
not plug-ins (manually disabled all of them)
Most annoying thing is I have been running my backups through a plugin - which I now don’t have access to.

Puzzling that i can even get the WP-admin page to load…

UPDATED: (bored now ! :upside_down_face:)
SO have loaded WordPress Debugger and:-

WordPress debugger yields the following:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[’ in /home2/elmwood.essex.sch.uk/httpdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/pro/cornerstone/includes/classes/admin/class-updates.php on line 222

So anyone know what version of PHP needs to be running on my server for latest pro update to work?

@Pat_Shaw

Glad to see you were able to track down the error message. This is a bug in 1.2.0 that we’ve addressed for the upcoming maintenance release.

It wasn’t caught in beta testing because it’s specific to really old versions of PHP. In fact, whatever version of PHP you’re using is probably “end of life” and not getting security updates from PHP anymore. We’d advise contacting your host to make sure you’re on at least PHP version 5.6.0

Then you’re not having the same problem. Feel free to open your own thread describing what’s going on with your site.

Hello There,

A few hours ago we have release Pro 1.2.2. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.
