How to Customize Category Pages

Hey, I’m just curious if there’s a way to customize category pages.

The standard category page just has a title “Category Archive” and a line of text “Below you’ll find a list of all posts that have been categorized as ‘category name.’”

Is there a way to have a category page set up the same, visually, as a regular page? With a featured image and customizable text?

Hello @kerridawn,

Thanks for asking.

You can set or change the text on category page from Posts > Category > Archive Title and Archive Subtitle. For featured image yo mean posts featured image or featured image for category page. If the latter is the case then that will require some custom development using Conditional tags which falls outside the scope of support we can offer. To get started, you can take a look at following articles:

Thanks.

Yeah, my issue was mainly about having a banner image on the top of each category page. But if it’s out of the scope I’ll keep looking.

Thanks for the links!

You are most welcome.
