How to create slide show at top of the page?

Looking for simple slide show at top of page, or perhaps to be replaced with video now and again Just like with the Integrity theme at top. How to do? Thx!!!

Also quick question, how do I edit the footer area? Thx!

Hello @galatia,

Thanks for asking. :slight_smile:

You can use Revolution Slider to display slideshow on top of the page. After you have created the slider, open the relevant page and under slider setting above mast head, select the slider you created. https://screencast.com/t/j7ScAkFt

I am also sharing our Revolution Slider tutorial that you can refer to get started https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-revolution-slider/71

Can you please elaborate the second question.

Thanks.

Thanks we will give this a try! Regarding footer I was thinking of making something like this footer:

Here:

But not sure how or where to edit this, any idea how to copy paste the format too? :wink: thx!!!

OK so perhaps I missed something, how does one create the Revolution Slider? Is this a plugin I have to turn on? Where is that created edited? Perhaps my other team member knows, I will check with her too. Thx!!

OK update, My partner seemingly got this done! Huzzah! but I still have a question…How/where do I edit these pictures? Is there a way to get arrows pointing left/right to scroll thru and an arrow pointing down like here? https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-create-slide-show-at-top-of-the-page/11319/2

Also just like at the above link, is there a way to get slide show Above header?

Here is our page again http://galatiafilms.com/newsite/

Also another quick question: I noticed some of these say I have to pay premium to get them? I thought this came bundled with my purchase of X, is this not so? Thx!

Hi there,

  1. About the footer, that’s a default footer and I can see that your site has the same footer already. As for editing, you can only toggle them on and off under X > Launch > Options > Footer (eg. footer menu , social icons, footer content). Then you can edit the existing footer content.

  2. And yes, it’s a plugin. You can go to X’s overview page and install Revslider addon. ANd you may check this documentation https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/. And please check this https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/navigation/ about arrows.

  3. And for setting up slider in X, please check this https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-revolution-slider/71

How Revolution Slider is Used Within X
The version of Revolution Slider that comes bundled with the theme a stock version of the plugin and does not feature any direct modifications to the way it functions. We have included some additional features, which can be utilized to enhance the way Revolution Slider operates and are available in the Slider Settings: Above Masthead and Slider Settings: Below Masthead meta boxes below the page editor in the WordPress admin panel.

You simply edit your page and find the slider settings section, and activate your slider above or below masthead.

  1. They are bundled plugin, you don’t need to buy licenses. But if you get direct support and updates from them then you’ll have to.

Thanks!

Thanks so much, you are amazing!! One last question, If you look at our page you can see that the height of the image is too big at the top, i.e. if you scroll down it does not jump right into the page but keeps showing more image, unlike here:

http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/

Those two examples above, illustrate the point very well. When you scroll down it jumps right into the page and the image ends, on our page it keeps going with image, is this a problem with the image size? If so what size should they be? If not how to adjust to make our page work just like the above. Thx!!

Hi @galatia

On your slider settings, setup your slider as full screen, scroll down and add to the box increase/decrease full screen height: .masthead

Please see image attached.

Hope it helps

Thank you very much! Struggling with this final fix and one or two other easy things I cannot seem to figure out. I am willing to pay someone to help me with final bits. Could be an hour job for pro? Please email me rephive AT live DOT com

Thanks

Hi There,

I am glad we could help, I would suggest you looking for help on our Facebook Group X Theme Pro Users.

Thank you

Thank you that was a big help! As you can see I did what you said and it made it better, but why is there still a wee bit at the bottom that is off the screen. When I look at these two below it is purely flush but on ours it still has a bit that is off the screen and I have checked it on two monitors aspect ratios, same thing, the circle dots are cut off, also how to get rid of red line at bottom is that a part of it? Not sure I like it or not. Thoughts ?

Hey there,

I just checked your site in different screen resolutions, different browsers and everything looks good, nothing is off the screen. Are you viewing the page while logged in? The admin bar must be pushing it down. Please check the site while you’re logged out.

To get rid of red line at the bottom, add the following CSS code in the Theme Options > Global CSS or in the Customizer via Appearance > Customize > Custom > Edit GLOBAL CSS

.x-slider-container.below {
    border-bottom: none !important;
}

Hope this helps!
