How To Add Widget Area in Right Hand Side of Home Page

Hello X support team and community,

I have the “Renew” theme demo loaded on my site.
I’ve tried to add a widget to the home page on the right hand side but was greeted with this message:

"Your theme has 6 other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.

You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages"

How do I resolve this issue and get the widget area?

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for writing in! This error seems to be a false alarm as you can see it here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/widget-error-while-customizing/16255/2).

Basically there are 9 widget areas in the theme. 4 header widget areas, 4 footer widget areas and 1 sidebar area. You can enable the header widget in X > Theme Options > Header > Widget. The footer widget areas can be enabled in X > Theme Options > Footer > Footer Widget Area. The sidebar is always active and you can assign a widget to all of these widget areas in Appearance > Widgets.

In the meantime, also please make sure that you’re using the latest X theme, Cornerstone plugin or Pro theme by following our version information here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195) and update your theme and plugins if necessary, by following our update guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).
