How can I customize how my featured products display?

Hey guys,

I’m having trouble figuring out how to customize how my products display. My link is here http://lsmerch.com

as you can see, i"m having trouble with alignment. I also want to put a quick view button on hover instead of the big red “select options” button that shows on hover, an add to cart button, etc.

can you guys help me out? thank so much

Hi @btbogan,

Thanks for reaching out.

It can’t be customized, but please try removing your product shortcode’s <pre></pre>. It affects your item display and ruin the grid layout.

Thanks!

oh thank you. so really, there is no way to customize how the products are displayed? that seems really REALLY weird. such a versatile theme, it seems like we should be able to customize that entirely like most of everything else. there’s got to be a way to customize how the shop and products look… any ideas for me?

Hi again,

If you go to Theme Options > WooCommerce you’ll find many options to customize layouts, different pages and widgets. You can also do it with either custom CSS or editing the core files of the plugin to customize the product pages / products which is regretfully outside of the scope of our support. You can checkout the following article related to customizing the products page https://www.sellwithwp.com/how-to-customize-woocommerce-product-pages-like-a-pro/ and follow the best practices mentioned here https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/customizing-woocommerce-best-practices/

Thank you for understanding!

ok thanks…

it looks like i’ve got a little bit of an issue with my product permalinks somehow. every product shows an OOPS error when you click on it… any ideas what’s wrong?

my site again is https://lsmerch.com

thanks

Hello @btbogan,

Please go to Settings > Permalinks and update the permalink settings.
Simply make sure that your shop permalinks is correct or just hit the “Save Changes” button without doing anything to update the permalink settings.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

ya I’m still facing the same issue. not sure what the problem is…?

Hey there,

Have you done changes or customization recently? Please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, JavaScript and deactivate your child theme and switch to parent theme (take a complete backup first).

  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thanks.

before i try all that, to answer your question. yes, i recently changed the permalink structure under “custom base” to what it is now, which is “shop”

should i not have done that?

I was having a hard time figuring out why my shop page wasn’t working, so i created a new one, and no products would show on it, so i changed the permalink structure & it worked, my shop page shows all my products. the only problem as a result is that now none of the products individual pages show anymore…

how do i fix that?
thanks so much for your help.

ok, phew, i fixed it. I changed it back to default and they’re all back. false alarm. thanks for your help friends. blessings.

Cool, glad you sorted things out.

Cheers!
