Help needed! Theme X recommended plugin Envira Gallery causing memory leak?

Hi Theme.co

URL: https://www.royalsmushicafe.dk

I’m trying to use the recommended Envira Gallery plugin to re-create my front page with pop-up effects when you click on the images, but when using this plugin with X Theme the website displays 508 error Resource Limit Is Reached and becomes inaccessible for a period of time:

In cPanel, I also see that the server has issues, going from almost no usage to max quickly:

I’ve tried to increase the memory of Wordpress and PHP on my server, but I still encounter this issue after a few clicks around Wordpress, usually when navigating the part of the website that is trying to display this gallery of images.

My system info is:

I’m not a web programmer and relying on Wordpress and Theme X, so any help to solve this would be much appreciated!

Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for writing in! Upon checking, I see that you have about 25 plugins which I don’t see it as much. 508 error means that your account is exceeding the resources allocated, for example RAM, CPU usage etc. In your case I would suggest you to get in touch with hosting provider as they can tell you why resources are getting depleted.

If you’re on a shared hosting plan, I would suggest you to upgrade your plan. However before doing that, could you please try increasing your memory limit by following our guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-increasing-php-memory-limit/16935).

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thank you, that seemed to help! Also, I figured out it was the Envira Gallery plugin that was buggy and caused the big spikes in resource usage, even with only 25 compressed images and lazy loading.

I found another plugin to do the same job, and it works much better now!

I also increased the PHP memory afterwards, just because it was recommended in many articles I’ve encountered while trying to troubleshoot it

Glad to hear eveything is good now.
