Help! Cannot edit with Cornerstone

Hi!
I updated Wordpress today and after that my X-theme is gone. The standard twenty-seven theme is now the theme. There is a message in my dashboard that the Cornerstone license is not validated. When i enter the license it cannot be validated. How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Update: I managed to reinstall the X-theme and get it back BUT I cannot edit my page with Cornerstone. It is just showing the black loading box. I have deactivated most plugins but no luck so far.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for writing in! I am sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. Could you please try following our general troubleshooting guidelines below and see if you can isolate the issue. Most possible causes are due to caching or plugin conflicts. In your case, it could be related to PHP memory limit.

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Go to X > Settings and click on the Clear Style Cache button.
  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  5. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the Theme Options or Child Theme and test the case.
  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

Hi There,

I could see that your website is loading over HTTPS but the WordPressadress (URL) and Webbplatsadress (URL) are still http://deeng.se:

Could you please change both them to HTTPS as well?

Let us know how it goes!

Hi!
Now the site is totally broken after changing to HTTPS. Can’t login to the admin panel and site is down.
Update: I added this to wp-config.php
define(‘WP_HOME’,‘http://mysite’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,‘http://mysite’);
and it’s up again. I don’t understand why it’s loading over https. This site has no SSL certificate to my knowledge. Isn’t that necessary to run https?

Hi Martin,

Did you setup this WordPress installation manually or did you use automated script on your hosting control panel? Hosting provider’s automated scripts often comes with SSL.

I would suggest you to contact your hosting provider to escalate this issue further.

Thanks!

I am not exactly sure why but Cornerstone works again. Thanks for your support!

Glad to hear that :slight_smile:
