Header Assignments for Pages

I can no longer assign a custom header to a page. I have been reading the forums about this problem and it sounds like the development team was to address this issue in February. What is the status of this fix?

Hello Christopher,

Please follow up the steps below:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.

  2. If you’re using a CDN(ex: CloudFlare), please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services. For the CloudFlare you also need to follow the steps below besides the developer mode: https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/1

  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  4. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.

  5. Switch to the parent theme to check if the issue persists.

  6. Turn off all the cache plugin.

  7. Make sure that you’re running at least PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid any WordPress related incompatibility issues. If you’re not sure what your server configurations and settings are, install a plugin like WP-Serverinfo (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/) and check your server info by head over to Dashboard -> WP Serverinfo area.

  8. Check your PHP Max Execution Time and set it for 120 for optimal usage (https://thimpress.com/knowledge-base/how-to-increase-maximum-execution-time-for-wordpress-site/).

  9. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

After running through these suggestions, I found that the plugin “Under Construction” by Themeco, was causing the Problem. For others that are having this issue, please check to see if you have this plugin enabled. If so, try disabling it. I would love to know if disabling it solves the problem for you

Hi @cpstei,

I have tested this on my dev site and was not able to replicate the issue, I can still assign header to any page with the “Under Construction” enable.

Can you confirm that you have the latest version of Wordpress, Pro, and Under Construction extension?

Version Compatibility

Thanks,

Yes, I have the latest versions of Wordpress, Pro and Under Construction.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for the password, but what is the username? I tried the common admin but it does not work.

Admin is just chris

Hi Christopher,

I am not able to duplicate the issue on your site.
I tried to enable Under Construction. Then I assigned header EXP1 to Sample page and it works. I disabled under construction plugin but left EXP1 header on Sample page. Can you try again using incognito or make sure to clear browser cache please. Thanks.
