Hamburger Menu on Desktop only in Pro

Hi there,

I was wondering if you could help me?
I am looking to have the same mobile menu I have created for my header in Pro, to be the same menu I have as my desktop menu in Pro.

If you check out what I am developing at http://www.simplysignspreview.com/saha/
You will see the mobile menu, with the hamburger icon and the flyout side panel to the right.
How do I get this to also function in the exact same way in desktop mode?

Many thanks!

Hi there,

Kindly go to the menu element that you used for the mobile menu in the Header Builder, by clicking on the magnifying glass icon of it. You most probably used the Navigation Collapsed element:

In the options of the element you will see a tab called Customize:

Click on that tab and you will see options to Hide/Show that menu functionality in the different browser and device sizes:

Make sure that it shows on all screens and you will have the functionality available for all cases. You may need to do the reverse thing for the inline menu on the desktop and hide it for all screens if you want to have the mobile menu only for all sizes.

I suggest that you check our video tutorials regarding this which will give you a better idea of how to work with these options:

Thank you.

Hi there,

That makes so much sense and is incredibly helpful!
Thanks so much.

One last question - is there a way (on other pages) I can make the same flyout menu remain permanently on the side?
Thanks!

Hi @EarlySigns,

In your last concern, I believe that it would be possible with custom development but this would be beyond the scope of our support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.

Thanks for understanding.

Hi there.

Thanks for letting me know, no worries.
I have also come across an issue with Internet Explorer and alignment in the menu being incorrect.
It appears fine in Firefox and Chrome, but when you check it in IE it shows centre aligned.
I have check this on mine and my colleagues computer.
Please advise.

Firefox (correct)

Internet Explorer (incorrect)

Is this a known issue with Pro?
I have gone into the menu and selected the left align tool for the text in the menu, and this appears not to do anything.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi There,

See this thread:

If that doesn’t help, please provide credentials on a secure note so we can double check your settings

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me.
I understand that IE might behave differently (is it considered old?)
But the rest of the instructions do not make sense.
How do I set the menu to force align to the left?
I think an image might be missing here to inform me of this?

Hi there,

You’re right, it’s not working even by directly changing the alignment to flex-start in IE. Would you mind providing your admin login credentials on a secure note? I like to test it there instead of IE inspector.

Thanks!

Hi @EarlySigns,

I’ve set your Menu’s Content Flex Layout > Horizontal of your Top Link to Start

It works.

Yes. Edge is the newest browser by Microsoft.

Thanks.
