Google Analytics Plugin – GDPR Compliance

Hi there!

As you probably all know by now the GDPR comes to force next month. Are you working on an update for your Google Analytics plugin that seeks user compliance before setting a cookie?

I couldn’t find anything about that in the forums other than https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/google-fonts-and-eu-privacy-statement-2018/25956 which only touches on the issues of google fonts and didn’t really get solved.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

The google analytics plugin that we have is just a wrapper or placeholder of any analytics code that you add. And we don’t have direct control on how google will handle the matter about GDPR. It’s google analytics and any data isn’t going to us but to them.
