Global Block and Content Area Modal

Hello

I am creating a header. In the header, I am trying to style a navigation link as an off-canvas modal or content area modal. Within these modals I am trying to display the shortcode for a global block. I have been unsuccessful in doing so and I’ve cleared the cache.

Can global block be nested in off canvas modal or content modal?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello @theHCC,

Thanks for asking.

You can add Global block into Content area model element. Please do following:

  1. Copy Global block shortcode.
  2. Under Pro > Header open the header and add Content area model element.
  3. Inspect the element and under Model Content, paste the Global Block shortcode.

To help you get started, here’s a screencast that can be refered.

Thanks.

This is exactly what I did before. For some reason it didn’t work on an existing content modal. When I just formatted a new one, it worked this time. Thanks.

Glad it’s working now. There could have been just a glitch.

Hello, I am trying to add a shortcode from Gravity Forms to the Content Area Off Canvas and the form does not show up when the toggle is opened. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi @ccwadsworth,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Make sure you’re adding your shortcode in the HTML editor and not the Rich Text editor (see screenshot)

Test your shortcode in plain WordPress page instead of Content Area Off Canvas element and see if your shortcode works over there.

If nothing works then please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, JavaScript and deactivate your child theme and switch to parent theme (take a complete backup first).

If you still have problems kindly create a new thread of your own with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thanks!
