Fatal Error when updating X

I just tried to update X, and my site is now completely broken. This is the error message I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function x_get_view() in /home/mmoya/womenonthemovetx.com/wp-content/themes/x/template-layout-full-width.php on line 17

Can I please get some help? Thanks.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! It seems like one of your X theme files are corrupted. Could you please try updating your theme manually (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).

Hope that helps.

I followed the directions to manually update via FTP to the letter, but now my website is displaying this:

The parent theme is missing. Please install the “x” parent theme.

The renamed x folder is in the theme directory, so I’m not sure why it’s not finding it. Thanks.

Now it’s displaying content that is totally not mine. Everything we built is gone.

I now understand that it was defaulting to the twentyseventeen theme because the X theme was not uploading properly. Is there anyway to get a version of the theme that does not have a corrupt file? Everywhere I got to download it - from dashboard, from ThemeForest account, etc. - I still get an error. This is a different error from another attempt to update.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_doing_cron() in /home/mmoya/womenonthemovetx.com/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 670

Hi there,

Hmm, are you sure there is no malware on your site? You should contact your hosting and have it checked. Example, this file /wp-admin/includes/file.php is a Wordpress core file and not related to the theme. Installing the theme has no effect on other files.

For the meantime, please provide your admin and FTP login credentials in a secure note and I’ll try my copies.

Thanks!

Thank you so much @Rad. I’ll definitely contact my hosting to have that checked. I do appreciate your trying your copies through FTP. Sending credentials in secure note. Thanks again.

Hi There,

Thank you for the credentials, but the Wordpress login did not work. The FTP works but there’s a lot of site’s folder there. Please point us which one is your site.

I also advice that you talk about this with your host first, because this seems to be a server side issue.

Cheers!

Duh. I’m so sorry I overlooked directing you to the correct site folder. It’s http://www.womenonthemovetx.com/. I’ll contact my host now. @friech

Hi There,

Did the issue already resolve? Your X Theme is already up to date (https://prnt.sc/gsjyt0) and I was able to update the Cornerstone to the latest version without error (https://prnt.sc/gsjzto). Please clarify.

I advice to update your WordPress and outdated Plugins to the latest version to avoid any incompatibility issue.

Updating WordPress

Another thing, please update your X – Google Analytics extension to the latest supported version (refer here).

To update this extension to version 2.x, follow these steps:

-Ensure your theme is validated so Extensions can be installed automaticaly
-Deactivate and delete the plugin._
-On the theme overview page, locate and install the plugin from "Extensions".
-Visit "Plugins" in your Dashbaord to activate the newly installed version.

Because all of the plugin settings are stored in the database, and because version 2.x will migrate settings from older versions, it's safe to use this method of deleting the previous version.

Thanks,
