Event Calendar Issues: Map Error, Cannot Add Location, Cannot Update Plugin

Hello - I have an issue with moving from staging to live. In my stage site the map displays, and I can edit the location but on the live site the map errors out and I cannot edit the location as there are weird characters in the way.

ALso I have an error for “Activation Code” and I do not know where it is
Also I cannot update the plugin via Automatic Updates

I solved all of my own problems - for anyone with a similar issue add a Google Map API key, it’s magic!

  1. There is no need to enter Activation code in Modern Events Calendar as it’s a bundled plugin.
  2. As of now the supported version of Modern Events Calendar is 2.1.0. Kindly note that we might not always update the bundled plugins to their latest versions as before releasing an update it undergoes a series of compatibility tests. Please see this article for more details about the bundled Modern Events Calender.
  3. Google maps is not working because it need API key. I suggest you to please take a look at following resource. https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
