Ethos 2 template on Pro

Guys I want to use the Ethos 2 template on Pro to start a site build? How do you do this?

Hi There,

regretfully regular and expanded demos are only available for X not or Pro. You can use design cloud templates in pro.
We are really sorry but that is something doesn’t offered with pro.

Thanks for understanding!

I don’t understand why Pro costs more and supports less features? You should offer the same functionality and build in that with more simple customisation?

Hello @Adeptis,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Let me try and elaborate the point that my colleague was trying to make. The reason why Pro Theme does not comes with X Theme like demo content importer is that Pro theme is developed using a complete new templating system.

We were aware of the problem customer’s were facing and to resolve that in Pro version 2 we launched Design Cloud. What is Design Cloud? Pro Theme Design Cloud is a Themeco curated platform wherein we have Themeco designed templates and community/user designed templates.

Why Pro Theme cost’s more then X Theme: Pro Theme has three unique tools (header and footer builder, design cloud) and that makes it very easy to design a website. Using header and footer builder, you can graphically design global or unique page specific headers and footers.

I am sharing the relevant resources that you can refer for more information.

  1. Header and Footer builder: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/pro-header-and-footer-builder-introduction/103
  2. Design Cloud: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/meet-design-cloud/24941
  3. Changelog: https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-pro-2-0-0

Hope that answers your question.

Thanks.

So why do you not add the themes in Design Cloud also to give more options to work from a template?

Hi Adeptis,

There are already different templates to choose from in the Design Cloud, if you mean why not converting the X theme demos/templates into Pro theme templates and provide them on Design Cloud, then that’s a feature request that I will pass it on to the team.

Thanks.

@Adeptis that’s the point, the Pro seems to be made for pros and allow for much more advanced customization, not to be more simple :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hi there,

Yes, it’s one of its feature. But it shouldn’t limit users capability, it only takes time to familiarize the system and its feature.

The design cloud are for templates and it still different from the demo. The demo doesn’t just include templates, it also includes settings and import process for sliders.

Thanks!
