Essential Grid w/ instagram source - title & excerpt not showing up

Hi,

I’ve read this topic: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/instagram-essential-grid-no-longer-working/14388

But it seems that i’m having the same issue still with Version 2.1.6.2.1 installed.

you can see the gallery at the bottom of the link that there are no Titles or Excerpts when you hover over them?

Not sure how to fix as i’ve updated to the latest …

You need to edit your skin to include the post title and excerpt.

Hi Paul - sorry i should have been more clear:

Everything was working fine (yes I have a skin that shows Title / Exerpt) but after an update they are gone.
I’m using the Madison skin.

Hey Jules,

Sorry for the confusion. The Madison skin or any other skin’s title and excerpt will not take anything from Instagram. Essential Grid has a special skin for it called Instagram Stream.

I duplicated your grid and switched the duplicate to that skin so you could see.

The issue in the other thread you linked to is does not apply to your issue here.

Hi - ok thanks for looking into that …

  • but im still a bit confused - I used to have the instagram post text? Is there any way to get that back?
    It seems that the only way now is to actually link to the instagram page?

Hello Jules,

I am afraid that you can’t go back to the old one. It is best that you use the Instagram Stream skin for the moment. Please understand that Instagram made several changes in their API. This is the reason why your title and description is no longer displayed. It will be updated one the creators of Essential Grid will find a way to display it back.
