Every time there is an update to the plugin I lose something in the gallery. This time I lost how the lightbox displays and nothing I do in the lightbox settings have any effect whatsoever.
How can I affect the lightbox settings?

Do you have any caching plugin installed?
This is most likely a cache issue.
Try to clear your plugin cache and check again.
