Editing wp menus very very sticky and slow

Hello,

I manage 10 different x and pro themed sites and ever since the last update or so, tat least 5 are all suffering when it comes to editing the menus from the wp dashboard. It takes such a long time to load and all me to edit, and then it is all very sticky. This has never happened before…

Do you know if it is related to x or pro as updating the theme was the only change that I could tell.

Thanks,
Sophie

Hi Sophie,

Thanks for writing in! X/Pro themes utilizes default WordPress menu structure. If you have a test site, you can disable X/Pro themes by activating another theme and re-test this issue to see if it is related to X/Pro themes.

Most probably your issue is related to PHP memory limit or it could be related a plugin conflict. To increase your PHP memory limit, please refer to the following detailed instructions here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-increasing-php-memory-limit/16935).

To test for a plugin conflict, you will need to disable all of your 3rd party plugins and re-test your issue further. If the issue resolved, you can then activate your plugins one by one to see which plugin causing the issue.

Also make sure to clear all cache when testing your issue. You can refer to the following resource here (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/).

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Experiencing the same issue at my sites. It is fixed only by activating the default theme instead of the pro theme.

Hello @Amir and Sophie,

Please increase your PHP input max value and the PHP maximum execution limit.
You may need to check out this links:

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

It did not solve the issue, our hosting provider (enterprise level) increased the values as suggested. So far it is only fixed by disabling the pro theme.

Hi Amir,

I would like to check your website but the sFTP account is not working:

Could you please double check?

Thank you.

Following… same issue on various sites

Hey guys,

The issue you’re facing could be related to this thread: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/x-menu-js-error/39960/15. If you’re using Pro, please follow the workaround in case you’re not using icons in navigation elements.

If you’re using X, please follow the recommended action by our core developer also in a similar thread.

Thanks.
