Duplicate results in search... ETA for fix?

Hi folks,
in searching the forum for an issue with repeated search results, I found this article which addresses the problem.

Search results are duplicated

I’ve implemented the temp fix but:

1. Can you tell us an approx ETA for the fix?
2. How can we exclude pages, for example the 404 page, from the search results?
3. Under the fix, some pages appear which don’t include the search term at all. Is this a know issue?

Hello Gilles,

1.) We do not have an ETA for the upcoming release version. All I can say is that we are already in Beta 3 phase.
Once we are done with beta testing, a release candidate should follow after.

2.) The 404 page can’t be excluded nor included in the search results because the page is non-existent. To exclude pages from the search results, you might be interested in this links:

3.) This is part of the known search issue.

Thanks again RueNel…as always, very helpful.
I’ll remove the Search for the time being, hoping to enable it again soon as the client wants it.

Regarding the 404… I meant “hiding the custom 404 error page” that I created. I’ll likely use the Search Exclude plugin referred to in your article, to hide it… after the Theme X bug is fixed.
