Dev validation not working

HI there, I just duplicated a prod site (that uses Pro) to local and changed the dev URL on the themeco dashboard. However, the UI is broken and I am not able to validate the site either. Can you advise me on what I am missing?

I am on Pro 2.5.5, btw

Hi Karthikeyan,

Thanks for reaching out.

It appears that the migration or transfer of the site is incomplete. I recommend using All in one migration plugin to automate that process. Please check this https://wpshout.com/quick-guides/all-in-one-wp-migration/

Else, we may need to access your site but I’m not sure if it’s possible since it’s in your local. Please check this https://www.devside.net/wamp-server/accessing-websites-on-a-local-network-lan-web-server

Thanks!

I had used Duplicator earlier. So I tried again with AIO Migration and things are not ok. The site says it is ‘validated’ which it is not, but that page is just messed up. (See image below).

I even replaced the theme files by downloading it afresh from the themeco site and that does not fix it either :-s
Any other pointers on what might be amiss or how to diagnose this?

Hi Karthikeyan,

Can you also try deleting your Pro theme (/wp-content/themes/pro), then download the latest version of Pro theme from your Themeco dashboard and then re-install it again.

Also regenerate your Permalink link settings by head over to Settings -> Permalink area, then select the option postname and save the changes.

If you’re still having issues, I would suggest you to follow our migration guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126) and re-create your staging environment.

Also it’s very important to clear all caches before testing your site (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/).

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Quick heads up. I finally got thing working by migrating the DB separately and copying the files separately. Not sure what was amiss but now I can get to work.

Glad you sorted things out,

Cheers!
