Deleting -2 in url not working

Hello. I have a problem where a number of pages on my site have the -2 extension in the url no matter how many times I’ve tried to change them. So far I’ve:

• Deleted the original pages
• Emptied the trash
• Disabled all plugins and tried to delete the -2
• Run an optimizer
• Deleted all cache

The -2 will not go away despite my saving the change. How can I get rid of them?

Thanks for writing in! Once you delete your pages and emptied your trash, can you also try resetting your .htaccess file by following this guide (https://wpcompendium.org/wordpress-management/wordpress-troubleshooting/how-to-fix-a-corrupt-htaccess-file/).

Then you also need to clear full cache by following this guide (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/), before testing.

If you’re still having issues, provide us with your WordPress login credentials along with your FTP credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.
