Creating a custom blog page

Hi There,

I’m using xtheme and wondering the best way that you recomend to create custom blog pages. I am thinking the best way is just to create my own custom page and use an element that can grab our blog posts. Ideally, I could also choose posts based on categories. Also ideally, the post list would include pagination.

Is there a plugin or cornerstone element you suggest is best for this?

Thank you

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! There are few options that you can try. You can go through Recent Posts shortcode as outlines here (http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/shortcodes/recent-posts/). There is also a Recent Posts element in Cornerstone which you can use.

Also you can try The Grid (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-the-grid/74) & Essential Grid plugins (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-essential-grid/68).

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply!

I have tried both and so far the essentials grid seams like the best fit. The only issue I have is that no matter what I try, I can’t get the content protion of the post to show by default on the main og page, currently it only shows when I hover. I found this article but I don’t have those options: http://www.themepunch.com.cach3.com/index.html@p=4653 I can only set in or out.

Any idea on how I can show the content? Here is the page i’m working on: http://hybridpharm.com/test/

Thank you

Hi there,

There is an under construction page that is active on your site. Kindly provide the admin access in a secure note so that we can check it,

Thank you.

Oh i’m sorry, attached below:

Hi There,

I have done it for you using the following guide (http://www.themepunch.com.cach3.com/index.html@p=5154).

Thanks!

Great thank you so much! I was hoping to use even layout as oppose to the masonry, but it seams that isn’t possible? Well I huess if I keep all my images the same ratio, they columns should line up.

Thank you very much

Hi there,

I think it’s possible with even layout, but the two (masonry and even) can’t be used at the same time. You may also try installing force regenerate thumbnails plugin and generate your images (in case you have uploaded images before you use Essential Grid), to make sure EG uses the applicable sizes registered by itself.

Thanks!

i only have the one grid on the page, but if I switch it to even, it goes back to the flp version instead of showing the content. I’ll try being consistant with the image sizes as then it should look like they are even, even if it’s set to masonry. I will try the regen thumbnails if I run into issues.

Thank you and i’ll let you know if I need anymore help

Let us know how it goes
