Could not establish connection. Please ensure your firewall is not blocking requests to theme.co

Had to reinstall wordpress on clients site and now I cam getting the error: Could not establish connection. Please ensure your firewall is not blocking requests to theme.co

We switched from primary domain wallgenie123.com to picgenie123.com and removed the old installation of wordpress with X Theme, reinstalled new wordpress installation, installed X Theme, updated production url and are trying to validate.

I’ve spoken with GoDaddy for hosting:
theme.co is not blocked
– allow_url_fopen is on
– cURL support is enabled
– OpenSSL support is enabled

They are also able to ping theme.co and sent this:

$ curl -I https://theme.co/
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Server: nginx/1.10.3 (Ubuntu)
Date: Tue, 01 Aug 2017 16:06:39 GMT
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Connection: keep-alive

Link: https://theme.co/wp-json/; rel=“https://api.w.org/

Please advise.

I have exactly the same problem. How did you solve it?

Hi @md112945,

Would you mind providing the same information in a secure note and in your own thread? We’re not sure if it’s already fixed on his end, but we could also check your site’s issue regarding this

Thanks!

I made a secure note…

Hi there,

I deleted your secure note. You should only provide them in your own thread for security purposes. Please start a new thread and link it here.

Thanks!

You mean by ‘thread’ starting a new topic?

Hi There,

Yes, please create a new topic because if you provide a “Secure Note” here, it will be visible to the original poster.

In the meantime, please do the solutions provided here.

Thanks,
