Cornerstone - Unable to Edit

Hey there,

I’m unable to delete anything when editing in Cornerstone. I just purchased a new version and tried to reinstall it but I can’t delete the old version because I’m using X. Please help!

Hi Tylar,

Sure, please open a new thread regarding this issue and provide your site’s URL and admin login credentials in the secure note of your thread. You shouldn’t provide credentials in someone’s thread :slight_smile:

For the meantime, please try re-installing X theme first as it sounds you can’t delete it as X always activate it, and it’s true on old version.

Hello Tylar,

Thank you for the very detailed post information. I have check your site and I found out that you are still using an older version (4.2.2) of the theme. You will need to update it to the latest version. Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 6.5.5
  • Cornerstone 3.5.4

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

You can review our update guide and see the Manual Update section to update the theme manually.

I just purchased the updated X theme and Cornerstone plugin but can not update the current versions installed. I don’t have the old product purchase key because I have recently took this over from the previous owner, but I do have the new purchase keys. Any chance you could help?

Hello Tylar,

You can always download the fresh copy of the X theme from ThemeForest or from your dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard). Once you have downloaded the x.zip file, please do the manual updates of the theme instead. Please see the “Manual Updates” section in this knowledge base article.

It won’t allow me to drag the new x-updating file into the theme dashboard. Also, I don’t see the old x theme folder to delete it.

I’m sure I’m missing something but I can’t seem to figure it out. Can you login and do it for me?

I went ahead and updated all the theme and plugins. Please check your site now.
If everything is okay, you can deactivate the Under Construction mode so that the site will be live.
