Hi
I have just carried out an update of some of my plugins and when I attempted to update Cornerstone, the full plugin it was removed from my website www.gjestestuer.no and I got the following message:
php error, bad file/directory permissions or invalid site software configuration
I also got a message that I might have to do a manual update, but this does not work as I am told the plugin already exists.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for writing in! I see that you’re using an older version of X theme (5.1.1) and Cornerstone plugin (2.0.5) on your site. So you need to update X theme first and then update Cornerstone plugin to avoid incompatibility issues.
The latest version of X theme is v6.2.3 and Cornerstone plugin is v3.2.3 (https://theme.co/changelog/). Please follow our update guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).
In case if you encounter file permission related issue again, please follow this guide here (https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions) and set your permissions accordingly.

Thanks a lot for your help. I did what you suggested and both programs are now updated. I also disabled my cache-type plugins.
But when I go to the dashboard now, this is what I see:

Can you please confirm if you are using latest version of WordPress?
The issue seems related to that.
Please update the wordpress to latest version if you haven’t and let us know of that fixed.
