whenever i install corner stone plugin …error appear on website 500 internal server error. pls help

Hi Akshit,

Thanks for writing in! Most probably your issue is related to the PHP version that you’re using. Make sure to use PHP version 5.6.x or later on your server to avoid incompatibility issues.

If you’re already using a correct PHP version, then try to increase your PHP memory limit by following this guide (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-increasing-php-memory-limit/16935).

If you’re still having issues, try re-setting your .htaccess file by re-generating your Permalinks settings. To do that, head over to Settings -> Permalinks section and select the option Postname and save the changes.

Hi,
Upgraded php and wp version and increased the php memory limited as suggested but still no luck. Tried uploading cornerstone manually via ftp 2-3 times but still the same 500 internal server error shows when we try to activate the plugin.
Request you to look in the problem. Please find login credentials in secure note.

Hi Akshit,

There’s a server configuration related issue on your hosting environment. For example, I have tried to install a plugin from WordPress repository and it is asking for FTP credentials, which is strange (see secure note).

Could you please contact your hosting provider and ask them to look into this issue further.

Thanks for your reply. I will look into this.
Meanwhile I am trying to use the WPBaker plugin for editing and when i try to upload an expanded demo for editing, the website looks incomplete. Instead of showing any element, the code is displayed as text. Please visit the demo link http://demo.theme.co/band/

Thanks for updating in!

Please be advised that the band demo content was build using Cornerstone. You cannot edit the pages of the band demo content using WP Bakery Visual Composer. The site looks different from the band demo content because Cornerstone is not active. Cornerstone must be active in order to display the band demo content correctly and X theme needs Cornerstone to function properly.

I have checked your config files. I installed Cornerstone and every time it is activated, it results to an error 500 or a fatal error. I’ve look for the error logs and I could not find it. The error logs contains the necessary information of what is causing the fatal error. I would highly recommend that you ask further assistance from your hosting provider to figure out what is causing the fatal error. Your hosting provider support could easily find the error log and maybe share it to us so that we can resolve this issue.

And lastly, please make sure that your server have meet the needed requirements to run WordPress. You can check the requirements from here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
