Cornerstone not loading edit environment

This issue is affecting many of our wordpress installs using X Theme and Cornerstone. When we go to edit a page, the site attempts to open the cornerstone editor but ends up with a error asking to try and load the page again (see screenshot). Anyone know what’s happening here?

Hello @johann21,

This could be a plugin conflict issue. We can fix this by testing a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

For more info about this kind of error:

Let us know how it goes.

Hope that helps.

@jumar

We’ve tried disabling plugins but we still can’t fix it and we looked over the troubleshooting guide but to no avail.

What else can we do here?

Hello there,

We’ll take a closer look for you. Can you share us the following credentials in a secure note?

  • Website URL
  • Wordpress admin username/password

Thank you.

Hi @jumar,

I’ve added the credentials to the secure note, please have a look at the site.

Really appreciate your help here!

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I accessed your website and installed the WP Server Info plugin which you can access from Dashboard > WP Server Info menu which shows your hosting service provider details.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Contact your hosting service provider and ask them to update the PHP version to at least 5.6 or 7.1
  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  3. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  4. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  5. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit. The case for you is 512MB but it seems the problem is happening for a large page so try the 1000MB

Tell us if it fixes the issue, and also if this is happening only for a specific age or all pages.

Thank you.
