Thanks for writing in!
You are using an incorrect widget. Please get rid of the content area element and make use of the text element instead. If you want to add custom css, use inline element css which can be added in the “Customize” tab of the element settings.
Your layout would be much easier to design with the upcoming Grid Layout element. This is not out yet. We are still on a release candidate. You can check it here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/status-report-september-2019/63602
