Contact Form 7 Errors

Hi,

I have a few sites using X and PRO e.g. https://learningcommunitytrust.co.uk and at some point the contact forms 7 has stopped working. I disabled all plugins and still it doesn’t work. The version of contact forms is 5.1.1. When you try to send a message, it just says one of the fields contain errors but they dont and its worked for years.

Oddly on my other site which is a multisite, the main site of https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk and subsite: https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/secondary both have the same issue but my new subsite of: https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/primary seems to work which is bizarre. Any ideas guys?

thanks.

Hi @RueNel,

Those links don’t really have anything there. I has disabled all plugins, even changed theme and still get the same error message. I downgraded the plugin as far as version 5 and am now about to try v4.9.2 as it must be their plugin that failed at some point. Are there any other plugins that you guys have experience of that you would recommend for contact forms?

UPDATE*

tried v4.9.2 and still nothing. It still says that one of the fields contain errors. I even reduced it to just the name field and still it fails. Everything is up to date so i don’t know why its failing all of a sudden. disabling all plugins and switching theme even doesnt fix it. I guess the message it’s giving it relating to the plugin itself. This has wiped out the contact forms function on 3 of my websites now :frowning:

Hello Chris,

Regretfully the given credentials has a very limited privileges. Could you please make it as an administrator so that we can inspect your plugin and site settings?

Thanks.

Whoop sorry @RueNel, i have made that account an admin now. Thanks.

Hello Chris,

Please set up your Contact Form properly. The To and From is using the same email.

See the secure note.

Hi @Ruenel, i have changed this. I made them the same earlier when i was trying everything but it still does not work i’m afraid. It was working fine when i set the site up a while ago and someone mentioned that the form on my other site was not working which has lots more plugins etc so i decided to check this site which is much more basic and its doing the same.

Hi Chris,

Do you have any addons or plugins integrated to the form that implement privacy policy? The error is due to privacy policy not accept in which the option isn’t present in form fields.

I can’t verify any of this since your site is multi site where the account has no access to plugins and other features. Please deactivate all the plugins excerpt the form plugin and cornerstone. Then test it again.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad you are absolutely spot on. I have a plugin called master popups on my site which is a fantastic plugin and as an add on to this you can get a cookie policy add on. It when the cookie policy add on is activated that it causes the issue. It has always been fine so i presume that it is an update to this add on that has caused it! I will let the developers know. Thank you so much for you help both. Thanks too @RueNel

@Rad , how did you determine that it was to do with privacy?

thanks guys

Hello Chris,

@Rad was able to check the issue using the sites resources connections and the cookies data using the browser dev tools.

You’re most welcome! We’re glad @Rad were able to help you out.
