Classic Tabs elements not visible in Cornerstone

Hi,

Whilst trying to make some edits to the content in my Classic Tabs element the whole thing suddenly vanished from Cornerstone and I now have no way of editing it. It still shows up on the site itself.

Any ideas how I might be able to get this back?

Cheers

Hi James,

Thanks for writing in! Upon checking, I see that you have enabled coming soon page on your site.

The most probable cause would be that you’re not fully updated. Basically you need to check the following.

  • Make sure to use the latest version of WordPress.
  • Make sure to update X theme to the latest version.
  • Make sure to update Cornerstone plugin to the latest version.

You can check the latest X compatible version numbers from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195) and also you can follow our update guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62).

Further you need to purge your server cache, if you’re using a caching plugin. If you’re using a CDN like CloudFlare, you need to clear it’s cache and also clear browser cache before testing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response.

I had a look and there were some new updates out for Theme X and Cornerstone that I’ve installed. WordPress also appears to be up to date.

I’ve checked and the glitch is unchanged. The tabs display on the site but are nowhere to be found in Cornerstone.

Any other suggestions? Thank you

Hello @Pacey,

Thanks for updating the thread.

I checked your website and it seems that you have activated under construction plugin. Can you please share website login details in a secure note for us to take a closer look?

Thanks.

OK - I’ve added login credentials as a secure note.

You need to go to the homepage and the missing element is in the first row of the ‘Services’ section.

Hi @Pacey,

Your tab content contains invalid markup, malformed HTML. And it looks like the HTML version of the layout of the same cornerstone layout elements. Hence, causing issues.

You can still edit your tabs by clicking the icon in the screenshot below

It’s the skeleton mode of your page preview. And once you’re there, you can simply fix your existing tab contents. OR, instead of pasting HTML codes from builder’s generated code, you can use Global blocks and add the shortcode to those tabs. Please check this https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/global-blocks/24723

Example, let’s say you created a content in the global block using the same builder, then simply copy the shortcode of that global block to your tab content.

Thanks!

Great, thanks for the tip! I can now get in there and fix the broken HTML.

You’re most welcome!
