I was successful in editing the style otherwise to suit what I want, but I cannot get the checkmark icon to show in the badge.

I checked the website and can see X Theme version 5.2.3. Please update X Theme to latest version 6.5.5 to avoid any compatibility issues as I can see latest version of Cornerstone 3.5.5 on the website. In your case you will have to validate X Theme manually as automatic update won’t work.

In update guide, please scroll down to manual update section on instructions to update X Theme.
