Child Theme issues: Soliloquy, mobile menu, concertina on home page not working

Hello,

Recently I upgraded my GoDaddy WordPress managed subscription to include web security.
Any how, my site was also moved from www.catdouglas.com to www.catquinney.com. Not sure if either are relevant.

What the issue is, is that the Soliloquy sliders simply aren’t showing, on mobiles the menu isn’t clickable, on the home page the dropdown menus in the Experience section are automatically open even though it’s set to be closed, also the browser tab for the site hasn’t updated (when you roll over it still says Cat Douglas…), even though I changed it in WP.

GoDaddy just today told me that my Child Theme hasn’t been updated in a year, what I understood was that you don’t have to update the Child theme, that’s the point so the customisation doesn’t get lost. However, I’ve checked in WP the X Theme section and it doesn’t appear to have a Child Theme in use - it definitely used to! It says it’s using version 5.1.0 of X theme if that helps. GoDaddy also told me that in the WP backend isn’t informing me the Child Theme needs updating and that X Theme’s current version would need to be downloaded and uploaded.

Please help, I tried searching various parts of this problem to no avail, plus I’m still on maternity leave which is about to end and I’ve got to get this sorted so I can announce my up and coming availability with a fully-working website, and haven’t got childcare starting yet so I don’t have a lot of time to browse topics properly, hope you understand.

I’m not fully clear, which section or type of migration is applicable to my site(s)? I don’t understand what you’re referring to by ‘secure note’.

I haven’t migrated my site, it was a domain (url) change.

Please backup your site and install the Better Search and Replace plugin.

Once it is activated, please search for:

https://www.catdouglas.com and replace it with https://www.catquinney.com and
https:\/\/www.catdouglas.com and replace it with https:\/\/www.catquinney.com

However, the issues above remain unresolved.

We also found out that you are using an older version of X theme (5.1.0). X 6.2.5 is now available in automatic updates! This release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (https://theme.co/changelog/). Please do update to the latest version. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Thanks but there’s no automatic update function on the X theme page, it’s just a misformatted list of images that goes on scrolling for a very long time (see screenshot). Also, I created the site with a Child Theme and I can’t see that one is in use at the moment - please check and confirm for me.

When you say ‘clear caches’, is that within the browser settings?

Automatic updates will not be initiated when you have missed major updates. In that case, you will need to manually update your X theme and Cornerstone plugin. Please refer to our update guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62) and check the heading “Manual Updates”.

With regard to caching;

  1. If you’re using a caching plugin, you will need to purge server cache.
  2. If you’re using a CDN service like CloudFlare, you need to clear it’s cache as well.
  3. You also need to clear your browser cache.
