Child theme and previously created pages

Hi, I have xtheme and was reading your guide on setting up a child theme. I have created pages and want to modify them further but don’t want the changes overwritten with an update.

My question is can I take the pages already created and add/move them to the child theme?

Hi Rob,

The Child Theme is for cases that you want to PHP override and code customization. It does not apply to the current page stuff that you have in the WordPress admin.

If you wonder if you can have a copy or backup of the pages I suggest that you check the Template Manager for that.
