Can't edit my website

Hello,

When trying to edit my website (Theme Pro), it loads with no end. How can I solve the problem?

See video here: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqVT653uuf

Hi Antoine,

Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell what’s causing the issue based on the video. Would you mind providing your admin login credentials so we could check it?

I also noticed that you have active CloudFlare setup, could you try disabling that while we’re on it?

And please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

  7. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory or do it yourself by adding this code in your wp-config.php

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

Thanks.

Thanks. Here are the login credentials:

Hi Antoine,

Thanks for the details!

I can see you are using an older version of the theme and WordPress. Please update it to the latest version for a possible fix.

Please follow the steps given by @Rad above in the post.

Thanks. I did check the list of things to do and realised that deacitvating the plugin W3 Cache solves the problem.
The question now is how can I reactivate the plugin and make sure I will not have the same problem again?

Hello @Lecoqdigital,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Glad to hear that the plugin conflict solves the issue. However, I would suggest you to update Pro Theme to the latest version 2.4.6 in order to avoid compatibility issues. More so Pro 2.4.6 comes with hosts of bug fixes and new features.

You can also take a look at following article for some more option on Cache plugin:

You can refer following resources to update.

Thanks.
