Can't edit / access Cornerstone anymore

Hi Team! Small question. I’n not able to open the page in cornerstone anymore. I get a strange error page (screen shot attached). I updated all plugins and theme setting not, but still the same error is there.

Can you help me with this?

Hi Patrick,

Are you using X for this site? If so, kindly double check that you have also updated X to the latest version as well as it will cause an incompatibility issue if it is just either Cornerstone of X that you update.

Here is a link for a details information on how to do an update:

Please remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors or any unexpected display issue on the site.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jade, I updated to the latest version of X. Tried to delete conflicting plugins. But nothing, to bad. Any idea’s?

Hi There,

I’ve managed to update the Cornerstone plugin to the latest version. But I’ve got this the HTTP 500 error message when I edited the pages with Cornerstone:

Please follow up the steps below:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  3. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  4. Switch to the parent theme to check if the issue persists.
  5. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  6. Make sure that you’re running at least PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid any WordPress related incompatibility issues. If you’re not sure what your server configurations and settings are, install a plugin like WP-Serverinfo (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/) and check your server info by head over to Dashboard -> WP Serverinfo area.
  7. Check your PHP Max Execution Time and set it for 120 for optimal usage (https://thimpress.com/knowledge-base/how-to-increase-maximum-execution-time-for-wordpress-site/).
  8. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and the FTP account of your website using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.
