Can't add excerpt to pages created in Cornerstone

I am unable to find a way to add an excerpt to my site pages, except for the blog pages created in the regular Wordpress editor. I found an article about this being a known issues but it’s well over a year old. Has this been addressed? Am I just missing something? It does not show up as an option under page settings:

My goal is to have an excerpt that will show up on the search page results, like it does with blog posts.

Thanks. That did allow me to add excerpts, but I tried a couple of searches and the content of the site is not always showing up. For example, I searched for Reed, which is a person who is referenced in the content on the About page, and I get the ‘nothing to show right now’ result. The search function seems to work for some other content, but not all. Can you help me figure out why?

I can confirm that the texts inside the v2 text element is not searchable which is why the about page does not show when you search for “Reed” keyword. V2 element’s raw code doesn’t have visible texts that search can find, it’s only become visible when it’s rendered on the live page. So the search is basically just scanning the shortcode version of the page and not the output. This is already have been added to our issue tracker and our developers will be fixing this.

Meanwhile, you can resolve this by installing Relevanssi plugin.

Relevanssi plugin takes up hundreds of MB of server space- not a great solution.
There is a support thread from 16 months ago about this same issue. Why has this not been fixed? I’m using quite a few V2 elements on my site and had no idea they could not be indexed. The solution given to the person last April was ‘use classic elements’. Seriously? Is this something that will actually be fixed, or just sit on a list?

A fixed will be available on the upcoming release. It is already on testing phase. The beta version of it can be downloaded on your dashboard. It was stated on the updated changelog for Pro 2.6.0, X 6.6.0, Cornerstone 3.6.0. See this part:
