Blog Layout with 2 Categories

Dear Themeco

Hope you can help.

The current site I am building is in the Renew Stack.

I have a requirements for 2 different blog pages - one NEWS and One JAMES’ BLOG.

Obviously I can create 2 seperate categories no problem, but I want only the posts for the relevant category to appear on the relevant page. I have therefore created 2 seperate category links in the main menu which seems to solve that problem.

I now want to remove the brown header and ideally change the title to the seperate category names.

Also, is it possible to create a new image style header?

Hopefully this image makes the above clear.

With thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ali

Hi there,

Please kindly go to Posts > Categories and click on the title of the category you have on your mind to go to the settings of that category.

Scroll down to option Archive Title and add whatever you like to show instead of the Category Archive text:

But I did not understand exactly regarding the second question. What do you mean by new image style header?

Thank you.

Many thanks for this. That has changed the title text.

Ideally I wanted to add a a nice image header to the top of the page - instead of the brown header bar in the image above.

Obviously if I was building on a standard page, I could add this in via Cornerstone by adding a section etc. Is this possible within a Post page?

I had tried having standard pages for both OUR NEWS and JAMES BLOG and added the ‘Recent Post’ Element to the page. This however only shows the past 3 posts and I want all new and past posts to be visible - this I imagine can only be done on a Blog Archive page?? If this can be done by a simple code, then this is probably the best solution as I could also add a header via Cornerstone.

I have read some other posts regarding the Blog, and ultimately I want to achieve a layout similar to another user but with an image header over the Blog entries:

I also have just noticed that the Blog posts are going to a 404 page from the Archive. Any thoughts?

Many thanks for your ongoing support.

Ali

That is possible by creating a header and assigning it to all blog posts.

It will replace the standard header though so you need to create a bar with your logo and navigation. To learn more about the header builder, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/pro-header-and-footer-builder-introduction/103 and also the rest of Pro related tutorials in our Knowledge Base.

For the 404 issue, try resetting your permalinks. See http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/wordpress-features/reset-permalinks. If that doesn’t help, please give us a URL of an archive page.

Thanks.
