Blank Images Loading into Library

Sept 5th Duckypb opened a very similar support ticket.

Pasted is an image of my library with the blank spaces. It happened yesterday afternoon as I was working on my site.and working on the add feature image section.
I deactivated all plug ins and there we no changes. I deleted the images, cleared cache and tried to upload different images all with the same blank result.

I went to my dev site and uploaded and the issue was not replicated. I flipped back to an old theme and all appeared ok.

If I attempt to click on the image and force add it as the featured image. NG

Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the issue on my installation. Would you mind providing the site’s URL and admin login credentials in a secure note?

For the meantime, please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

  7. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory or do it yourself by adding this code in your wp-config.php

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

Thanks.

Hi Robert,

I can’t access it and locked out by Wordfence, please temporarily disable it and let us know. Blank images could be related to that as well, you may check it as well after disabling it.

Thanks!

Hi Robert,

Thanks, I’m able to access it now but the password is incorrect. Please provide the correct one.

Thanks!

Hi Robert,

Unfortunately, it’s still incorrect. Would you mind using a different Username and a stronger password?

Thanks!

Hi again,

Thank you for the updated credentials. I did some deep testing with different scenarios and I see those blank images actually don’t exist on your server. I switched to different themes even the default WordPress theme and still those images were showing up blank. It looks like those images were somehow deleted from your server directly either via FTP or any other source that had the access to your server. Just to verify you can login to your server via FTP and see if they are available. The only way i could replicate the issue on my local setup is if I delete the images directly from the directory (not using the WP media library to remove those images) and I had the same issue on my local setup as well.

You can remove those blank images via WP media library and upload again using WP media library.

Please check and follow this as well https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/http-error-when-uploading-images-to-wordpress

Let us know how this goes!

We’re glad that your host provider was able to fix the problem.

Cheers!
