I like to read up more about Slider but don’t seem to find some basic info. Eg:
What is the max no. of photos I can put into a Slider?
Is the Slider the same as a carousel?
How big will the Slider look on a webpage on a laptop screen & a phone screen? Can I change it to one third (in height) of a laptop screen, and half the height of a phone screen?
I have 50 photos divided into 5 categories, i.e. 10 photos per category. I just want these photos to quickly scroll by so people have a very rough idea what we have. Hence, I just need a word (for each category) and 10 photos stacked under this word. Can you kindly suggest what Elements should I use to give people a quick overview?
There is no upper cap limit of slides in a slider element. Personally I have added 70 slides while testing our beta versions X Theme and Cornerstone and it works fine.
You can take a look at following thread to learn more about differences in between slider and carousel. In X Theme slider refers to a image slider and carousel (it’s in Ethos stack) refers to post carousel.
You will have to use some custom CSS should you wish to alter the height. For some relevant examples, please take a look at following thread:
In this case I would suggest you to use Revolution Slider plugin that can be installed from X > Validation > Extensions. You can also take a look at the demo sliders for some more info. Please note that adding 50 images and more so if the image size is heavy, may slow down the page load time and may impact user experience.
