I’d like to implement a custom background using CSS code (and only on certain sections, on certain pages).

Can you tell me where I should place this code? Thanks.

Thanks for writing in! The first thing to do would be to wrap this in a class, which you can then apply to your sections as needed:

Then, you could take all of that code and either put it into the style.css file of a child theme, or put it into the “Global CSS” for your website inside of the “Theme Options” area. Child themes are typically the best and most flexible option if you plan to do any sort of customizations long-term or that are more extensive.
