With cornerstone, I am trying to create a hero image with text overlay.
In tutorials I have been shown that people used to insert a image in the background lower layer option.
But for some reason this option is not visible for me. Can someone explain why I can not see this option and how I can manage to see it? This is what it looks like. When I click background lower layer, nothing happens.

Thanks for writing in! First go to Cornerstone settings,
Then under Preferences tab, enable Advanced Mode.
Now when you inspect your Sections, Rows or Column, you can tick the Advanced checkbox to see those additional background options.
If you’re using an older version of X theme or Cornerstone plugin, please make sure to update to the latest versions first. You can check our latest version information from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195) and then update accordingly.
